IMHO a better way would be to use a 3D printed (including the "reed") mouthpiece with solid mounting points for the sensors.

Regarding sensors IMHO it would be better to use solid state pressure sensors (like the TEC's) for air and lip pressure instead of a fragile multi-part magnetic sensor. The flexible 3D printed "reed" could translate the lip movement to pressure.

It is definitely an electrical connector. It has a very small hole in the center that mates with the other connector half mounted in the neck hole. In the photo of the neck, you can see the pin.
