swam mapping

Post by captainscarlet » Wed Jun 28, 2017 6:30 pm

Does anything else (other than the midi mapping page) posess the ability to be automated?
The soft/hard/expr would seem an ideal candidate.

For live playing with the Flute, I automate the "Style" slider via it's VST parameter. I do know that same is not meant to be used this way, but I use Reaper to route it from the "Bite" Parameter of my TEC BBCv2 to create an effect similar to varying the blowing angle.

Moreover I use the standard CCs: head tilt for vibrato speed, nod for pitch bend, aftertouch for vibrato depth, Pitch-bend-wheel up for flutter tong and Pitch-bend-wheel down for growl.

Of course I use Blowing pressure for expression (which - btw- is a mappable CC in SWAM)

Thank you Michael, I'm still not clear on what this means?

The Flute GUI features a slider called "Style". it moves the basic sound from "classic" to "ethnic" (i.e. from very "round" to rather "rough").

This Model parameter is not mapped to a CC in SWAM, but of course it is provided to the DAW for storing and recalling. Hence the DAW can automate it. With Reaper you can easily map an automated VST parameter to a CC# and same can be sent by the BBC.

Thank you Sir, I had to enable some things in Cubase to get it working.
Is there any advantage to thi over using CCs, do you know?
