Re: New Akai EWI5000 announced at NAMM

well there's nothing more to add from my side. I also hope Akai adds wireless MIDI. I use my EWI4000s for Samplemodeling instruments only, since years.

Re: Touch OSC

I'm about to create a Lemur template/interface for Samplemodeling instruments in Lemur, and maybe also in TouchOSC if there is enough demand. So if you already use TouchOSC for these instruments, I wanted to ask for what specific task you use it most. - keyswitches - parameter control - other? Thanks.

Re: A new BC controller is available!

by coincidence I saw a demonstration of that bc today. Looks and sounds convincing. Actually it's a demonstration of the Yamaha VL-1, but the MRT MIDI BREATH CONTROLLER is shown as well.

Re: Thoughts after weeks of using SM Clarinets in pit show

Very interesting post and replies. From my personal expirience, the SWAM soprano clarinet actually have much more dynamic range than any of the SWAM saxophones, but the real instrument obviously have even more range. with obviously you mean the limitations of music reproduction and speaker systems ...

Re: EWI vibrato

there is no right or wrong, just personal preferences. It's good that there is more than just one way to do it.

As mentioned in the first post, airflow variation sounds like a vibrato, but it is still open to the discussion if it is a real vibrato or not.

Re: Too real, or not too real, that is the question

I agree to the other people. There are fine nuances, difficult to describe, that still make a difference between a real instrument and a Samplemodeling instrument. There is some 'roughness' or 'grittyness' in a real sax, which is quite impossible to translate to a virtual instrument. Of course, the ...

EWI vibrato

since there are several (3) ways to create a vibrato, let us discuss our preferred methods. So here I make the beginning. I'm an amateur player, but I have the EWI since some years. I use mostly breath for vibrato. It is a bit difficult, it may sound unnatural at times, so it's not the easiest metho...
