Hopefully it'll be released as per the timeframe of the other 3 strings...if I remember correctly there was about 6 or 7 months between each release. Viola in late 2015, Cello in mid 2016 and Violin in late 2016...I'm thinking Double Bass in mid 2017...hope I'm right ;)

Michael, that sounds like a great idea. Of course, the best way would be to wait for the release of the instrument. There are several "instruments" in each of the solo strings, so picking one that sounds better for low-pitch shifting. One could even try the violin, and shift the formants down below ...

Hopefully some time this year we will see the contrabass added to the collection of solo strings. I'm toying with the idea of doing pitch-shifting to approximate the sound, of course it's no substitute but it helps to get a feel for what the quartet would sound like in a realistic context.
